Breeder of Top Champion Boxers since 1978

Our Start:
Boxers have been an integral part of Lee Ann "Scott" Brooks and Bethany L. "Scott" Glenn's lives since they were small children growing up in Northern Kentucky. Lee Ann often tells that her affection for boxers was imprinted on her at birth when "Ike", the family boxer, escorted she and her parents home from the hospital after she was born. Lee Ann and Beth remember Ike fondly as he lived to the ripe old age of 14 and established their devotion to the breed.
In 1978, while attending the University of Kentucky and dating her now husband, David Brooks, Lee Ann purchased a boxer, which led to the establishment of Brookwood Kennels. Lee Ann had bred for several years with little success in producing her ideal boxer. Finally in the 1980's, she became friends with Mr. Joe Heine (Boxella Boxers) who began to help her along the way in her breeding program. Lee Ann's breeding program began to make great strides with the purchase of two bitches, Brookwood's Hilo Hattie (Ch Raja's Chairman of the Board daughter bred by George Blackmon) and Boxella's Arlene (Ch Misty Valley's Curtain Call daughter bred by Joe Heine).
Boxella's Arlene was bred to a Ch Pinepath's Night Watch son named Boxella's Mario Valentino. This breeding produced the first Champion for Brookwood Kennels, Ch Brookwood's Ivy in Snow (Ivy) who later became Brookwood's first Dam of Merit through her first litter bred to Ch Hi Tech Johnny J of Boxerton (Johnny J). The breeding between Ivy and Johnny J catapulted Brookwood Kennels to what it is today by producing Multiple BIS BISS Ch Brookwood's Dream Dancer SOM.
Brookwood's Hilo Hattie was also bred to Boxella's Mario Valentino to produce Brookwood's Blaze of Glory (Glory). Glory was then later bred to Ch Cachet's High River Gambler (Bubba) which produced a very nice litter including: Ch Brookwood's Card Shark (Sharky), Mex Ch Brookwood's Hit The Jack Pot (Jackie) and Brookwood's Place Your Bets (Bets) DOM.
Glory was then bred a second time to a Boxella's Zachariah son (Boxella's Picasso) to produce Ch Brookwood's Tribute to Boxella, a very special boxer in his own right.
While Lee Ann was busy building the foundation of Brookwood Kennels, Beth along with her husband Danny were busy raising their daughter, Kristen. As a devoted mother, Beth would often take Kristen to visit Lee Ann and the boxers of Brookwood Kennels. Never losing sight of how the breed affected her as a child, once Kristen was raised, Beth began to work along side her sister to cultivate and build upon the foundation that Lee Ann had started. It was with Ch Brookwood's Dream Dancer (Danny) that Beth once again became "mesmerized" by the breed that had stolen her heart as a child.
To date, the most prolific breeding of Brookwood Kennels has been between Ch Brookwood's Dream Dancer and Brookwood's Place Your Bets. This breeding produced 6 Champions for Brookwood Kennels. Ch Brookwood's Majestic Star, Ch Brookwood's Daydream Believer, Ch Brookwood's Sunset Serenade, Ch Brookwood's Place of Dreams (repeat breeding), Am/Can/Mex Ch Brookwood's Full Moon (Top Twenty Boxer in the US and Number 1 Boxer in Mexico), and Multiple BIS BISS Brookwood's Mystic Warrior (Tommie).
With the help of co-owners Debbie McCarroll and Mark Fagan, Tommie has surpassed the expectations that any breeder could hope for. He has won the American Boxer Club National Specialty twice, won the American Boxer Club's Top Twenty competition and 62 All Breed Best in Show's, the second all-time winning male in breed history.
